A Brazilian wax has a median price of $80 across 37 salons, and most quotes land between $64 and $111. Where a specific studio sits in that band is driven mainly by metro rent, not by wax quality. The listed price is rarely the whole cost — tipping is customary and add-ons are common.

Know the types

Comparing prices is only meaningful if you are comparing the same service, and studio menus are inconsistent about what they call things.

Bikini versus Brazilian. A bikini wax clears only what a swimsuit would show and is priced well below a Brazilian. If a quote looks unusually low, check whether it is actually for a bikini line.

Brazilian versus Hollywood. Some studios charge the same for both and simply ask whether you want a strip left. Others list a full Brazilian separately at a higher rate. This is the most common source of a checkout surprise.

First visit versus maintenance. A first appointment on grown-out hair takes longer and uses more product. Some studios price it higher; some include trimming free; some charge a trimming fee that is not on the menu.

Aftercare and rebooking

The rebooking cadence is a cost decision as much as a comfort one. Waxing works best when the whole area is on a single growth cycle, and letting it grow out completely between visits resets that, which means a longer, more painful and sometimes more expensive appointment next time. Booking at three to four weeks keeps each service shorter.

Protecting the result also protects the spend. For the first 24 to 48 hours skip the gym, hot tubs, saunas and sun exposure, and wear loose cotton. From day three onward, exfoliate two or three times a week — this is the difference between arriving at your next appointment with clean regrowth and arriving with a crop of ingrowns that adds time to the service.
